Our women's team continued their record-breaking start to a WSL campaign with a 1-0 win over Leicester City on Sunday.

A fourth win in six under Dario Vidosic sees us climb up to second in the table, three points off Manchester City in top spot.

Nikita Parris scored for the third consecutive home league game - the first time she has done so since 2018 - in what was a routine win for Albion.

Albion nearly scored after 50 seconds when Guro Bergsvand’s ball over the top was a whisker away from being poked in by Fran Kirby.

The former Chelsea midfielder looked to turn provider when she teed up Vicky Losada just inside the box but the ex-Spain international blazed over.

An experienced head would provide the breakthrough, and it came in the form of Parris. Jorelyn Carabali crossed in from the right of the area and the striker stretched to get her head on the ball, directing it past Janina Leitzig and in off the post.

In her hunt for a second, Parris fired wide from Kirby’s cutback before Bruna Vilamala rifled wide of the top-left corner from the edge of the box, with Leitzig rooted to the spot.

The former United forward poked straight at the Foxes stopper early in the second half, before Carabali's long range thump flew just over the crossbar.

Sophie Baggaley went 85 minutes without having her gloves warmed and when she did, it was a straightforward catch at her near-post from Janice Cayman's effort from the right of the box.

Sophie Howard's dragged an effort from 20 yards harmlessly wide of the Albion goal and in the ten minutes of stoppage time Leicester pushed for an equaliser, but Albion held firm and have now gone four home games without defeat for the first time in our WSL history.
