Dario, your team are up to second in the table after a controlled performance against Leicester City which secured a deserved three points.
“It can be hard when you when you face a team that drops off and condenses the space and makes it hard to play. They were also waiting for that transition moment.
"We had to be patient, we moved the ball well and we waited for the right time. Especially in the first half, it was really, really pleasing. It's hard to create numerous chances because they had so many numbers behind the ball, but I thought we created enough to maybe have a bit more of a lead than 1-0 at half-time.
"Credit to the ladies. After an international break, training with about six players for those ten days and then come in and play the way they did. There were big compliments to them inside the changing room after the win. Tomorrow we're back at it, preparing for Friday night [at Arsenal]."
Nikita Paris again showed her qualities. It was a real striker's goal, wasn't it?
“We want the final product as well and Nikita gives us that. She's got that nose for goal. When it's there, she put it away and she did it again today so credit to her.”
When Leicester had a spell towards the end there was a resilience in the defensive performance. Sophie Baggaley really didn't have too much to do during the game.
“The idea is that we give her the easiest day on matchday. So that means we control the game. We probably played into their hands towards the end. That could be a little bit down to fatigue and they're throwing more numbers forward. They're getting a bit more desperate."
You brought Madison Haley and Rachel McLauchlan into the team today. How did you think they did?
“They were both really good. We went with something a little bit different, we thought Rachel would be suitable for that role and I thought she did brilliantly, Madi as well. She's been training really well and I thought her impact when she came on against Manchester United was really positive.
“We took into account the players that returned after international duty and the fatigue that they were under. We were looking after a couple of players in that respect as well. But the players that went out and the ones that came on all had an impact and a really positive performance. We can go confidently on Friday night to Arsenal.”
The team are now second in the table and going up to the Emirates in a really great position, for what will be a standout fixture won’t it?
“Every weekend it's a joy, it's fun. Especially when we're at home and we have that local support again today, it was excellent. I have to thank everyone on a chilly Sunday afternoon who came out and supported us.
“We'll need their support on Friday as well. If they're willing head to up to the Emirates, we'd love their support because we know we've got a tough one coming up, but we go with the same mentality. We'll prepare knowing it's a tough opponent, but we'll go there to try to win and get the three points again.”
