Dario's thoughts
18 Nikita Parris
On Nikita Parris scoring three goals in three games for the first time in six years... She's been fantastic and, as I said a little while ago, I think her best is still to come. There's still stuff that she's learning in that No9 role.
"Nikita's got her strengths - each player has their strengths - we then look to make those strengths even better.
On playing at the Emirates... I think it's going to be a very good game between two strong teams. We're looking forward to playing at the Emirates in what is hopefully a big crowd. That's a challenge for the girls but one I think they will enjoy. We're really looking forward to it and we think we can go there and get a result.
Match facts
  • Albion have lost all six of their away games against Arsenal in the WSL, failing to score in four of those defeats - in the two matches they did score in, however, they went ahead in the opening 15 minutes.
  • Arsenal have won two games and nine points in the Women's Super League this season (D3 L1) with 2014 (1 win and 4 points) the only campaign in which they have fared worse after six games.
  • Brighton have won four of their six league games this season (D1 L1), just one fewer victory than they managed across the whole of last season (W5 D4 L13). Thirteen points makes this the Albion's best ever start after six games of a WSL campaign.
  • Arsenal are winless in their last three home games in the Women's Super League (D2 L1) - only once have they had a longer run without a win on home soil in the competition (6 between May-October 2014).
  • Albion have the biggest positive differential between expected goals against and actual goals conceded in the WSL this season (+4.1 - 8.1×GA, 4 conceded whilst only Everton (-3.8) have a worse expected goals differential going forward than Arsenal (10.6 ×G, 7 scored, -3.6).
  • No player has scored more goals in the WSL against their former teams than Nikita Parris (9 - level with Ellen White), who made 18 appearances in the competition for Arsenal in the 2021-22 season.
