Dario Vidosic said he was proud of his teamâs performance despite their 4-2 defeat to WSL leaders Chelsea at Kingsmeadow on Sunday.
Jelena Cancovic and Kiko Seike, with her fifth goal of the season, gave Chelsea a scare and Albion had other chances too.
The head coach said, âI am very proud, especially with the number of chances we created but also disappointed with some of the goals we gave away â although thatâs the way we want to play.
âBut it feels like the belief is growing. We have come to the unbeaten champions and on another day could have scored five or six. Itâs a performance we can learn a lot from and grow.
Jelena Cancovic scored and impressed against her former club Chelsea on Sunday. đˇ by Kyle Hemsley.
âWhen we played against Manchester United and Arsenal we lacked that sense of belonging, especially in the first half. Today we conceded but we responded, continued to believe and continued to play. If we keep putting in performances like that I think we will have a lot of success this season.
âThereâs a lot we can improve but thereâs also a lot that we did well. We caused them a lot of problems.â
Albionâs encouraging display came despite the absence of seven players through injury.
âWeâre unfortunate with a lot of injuries,â admitted Vidosic. âWe lost Fran Kirby and Maisie Symonds during the international break but Jelena [Cancovic] did well in a new role.
âWeâve got a tough week and a terrific bunch of girls. They will recover well and Iâve no doubt they will be raring to go on Wednesday night against Bristol City when the incentive is there to win the game and get through to the next stage of the League Cup.â
