James Beadle pulled off an incredible save to ensure Sheffield Wednesday claimed an impressive 3-2 win over previously unbeaten Championship leaders West Brom. The result saw the Owls climb out of the relegation zone.

In the Austrian Bundesliga, Dutchman Kjell Scherpen helped Sturm Graz to a 2-1 win at BW Linz, as Tom McGill’s MK Dons drew 1-1 with Bromley. That marked former Crawley Town boss Scott Lindsey’s first game in charge of MK.
Carl Rushworth was an unused substitute in Hull City’s 4-1 win over Cardiff City. Former Albion man Steven Alzate made his Championship debut for the Tigers as a late substitute.
Defenders
Blackpool secured an impressive away win at Huddersfield in midweek, with Odel Offiah following that by scoring his first professional goal for the Tangerines in their 3-0 win over Burton Albion. The academy graduate nodded in Blackpool’s opening goal from ten yards.
Li Mengwen helped West Ham to their first point of the WSL season, starting in their 1-1 draw with Liverpool.
In Spain, Valentin Barco played the first half of Sevilla’s 1-1 draw at Athletic Bilbao, having played the full 90 minutes in their 2-1 win over Real Valladolid last week.
Grace McEwen was a used substitute for Portsmouth Women in their 2-0 defeat to Newcastle United in the Women's Championship, while Casper Nilsson was an unused substitute for Partick Thistle in their 1-0 defeat at Hamilton Academical in the Scottish Championship.
Midfielders
Malick Yalcouye had a busy week as he got back-to-back assists for Sturm Graz. The 18-year-old teed up Seedy Jatta to put Graz 2-0 up against Austria Vienna, but the game finished 2-2, before setting up the opening goal in their 2-1 win over BW Linz on Saturday.
Facundo Buonanotte was also credited with an assist as his cross was headed in by James Justin in Leicester City’s 4-2 defeat at Arsenal.

In the Championship, Andrew Moran was substituted on for the second half of Stoke City’s 2-0 defeat at Middlesbrough, Jeremy Sarmiento played for 70 minutes in Burnley’s 0-0 draw with Oxford United and Amario Cozier-Duberry came on for the final 15 minutes of Blackburn’s 2-0 win over QPR.
Samy Chouchane couldn’t stop League One Northampton slumping to a 2-0 home defeat to Mansfield Town, while Kamari Doyle got 70 minutes under his belt in Exeter City’s 0-0 draw at Wigan.
There was some positive news in League Two, as Luca Barrington scored his first professional goal in Grimsby’s 3-2 win at Carlisle. The 19-year-old raced onto a through a ball and showed good composure as he slotted into the bottom right corner.
Forwards
Clarabella Hall scored for Watford in their 1-0 win over Lewes in the National League Cup. The forward diverted the ball over the line as the Rooks tried to clear their lines.
Mark O’Mahony got his first full 90 minutes of EFL football as he started up front of Portsmouth in their goalless home draw with Sheffield United.
Abdallah Sima played for 60 minutes of Stade Brestois’ 3-0 away defeat at Auxerre in the French League, as Ibrahim Osman played ten minutes more in Feyenoord’s 1-1 draw at NEC Nijmegen.
In the Women’s Championship Lily Dent was substituted on for Pompey in their 2-0 home defeat against Newcastle.
