The documentary maker discussed how he was drawn in by the Albion story and the process of piecing the club’s tale together.

“I suppose you could call it a tale of two halves,” Lorenzo said of Albion’s past. “It was this fight away from the brink [led] by people like Dick Knight, the way that the supporters were galvanised behind him. That was terrific as a storyteller.
“Then in comes this genius called Tony Bloom. As everyone will know he's transformed this club, not only with his money but with his intellect. Lots of people have tried to emulate the Brighton success story and none of them have done it, possibly because they haven't started early enough, almost certainly because they haven't got Tony Bloom.
“I used to joke that Chelsea could stop buying all the Brighton players and try to get hold of Tony Bloom! That would be the answer.”
As a West Ham supporter, Matt did need an education in the strength of emotion surrounding the club’s history. "Not just so much the people who work here, but the supporters. I met a few characters and they're unified by the love of a football club," he added.
“And to move beyond that they were so passionate about football. I don't think there's anything else [other than football] where people refer to their club as ‘we’. It's this identity that is just brilliantly exemplified by Brighton and their fans.
“It's quite an emotional story. There's light and shade because it's football and because people are so invested in their football club.”
