Sports Minister sees Foundation’s great work
Minister for Sport Visit 01APR25 PH 0024
Stephanie Peacock MP, the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, was a guest of the club at the American Express Elite Performance Centre.
The MP for Barnsley South was given a tour of the training ground facilities at Lancing by deputy chairman and chief executive Paul Barber and met members of staff including men’s and women’s first-team head coaches Fabian Hurzeler and Dario Vidosic.
She also found out more about the work in the local community undertaken by the BHAFC Foundation and watched a disability session with players from our Amputee and Cerebral Palsy teams plus a girls football session with participants from a local after-school provision.
Her visit was arranged as part of the Premier League’s More than a Game initiative, which has invested £1.6bn into football over the last three years, funding community projects run by clubs including Albion, supporting people of all ages who need it most, as well as providing finance to improve facilities at all levels of the game.
Chief Operating Officer Paul Mullen said, “It was great to welcome Stephanie to the American Express Elite Football Performance Centre, and I know she was very impressed, not only with the facilities we offer for our elite men’s and women’s players but also for our academy players as well. She was particularly interested in the great work done by the BHAFC Foundation and the disability session they put on.”
