Our men’s under-18s conceded late on to lose 2-1 to Aston Villa in Premier League South on Saturday.
Zebedee Lawson put Albion in front midway through the first half with a smart finish into the bottom left corner after being picked out by Henry Kasvosve.
Villa responded in the second half though. Jack McGrath equalised on the hour mark, scoring from the edge of the area, before Trai-Varn Mulley struck in the 83rd minute from inside the box to make it 2-1 to the visitors.
Under-18s head coach Arthur Brammer said, “I am proud of the efforts of the boys following a good training week. We were dangerous on the counter and created some excellent chances.
"We put in a strong defensive display, but we invited more pressure when they equalised and that allowed them to find a winner. We changed shape and finished strongly but couldn’t find the equaliser.”
The under-18s are back in action on Saturday 26 April, when they face Fulham at home.
