AND THAT SEALS IT!!!
Maxim De Cuyper gets in down the left, crosses in and finds Danny Welbeck who picks out the top right corner!
Goal number 13 for the striker for the Premier League season.

Substitution
Georginio and Yasin Ayari go off to a standing ovation and are replaced by Danny Welbeck and Yasin Ayari.

JUST WIDE OF THE ALBION GOAL
Marc Guiu has a shot deflect off an Albion player and it looks for a moment as if it's heading into the bottom right corner, but fortunately it's the wrong side of the post.
77'
Substitution
Maxim De Cuyper replaces Yankuba Minteh.
76'
GARNACHO CURLS JUST WIDE
Decent opportunity for the visitors there as Albion are caught on the backfoot and Alejandro Garnacho can run with the ball down the left. He cuts it onto his right and sends his curler a yard wide of the bottom right corner.
70'
VITAL VELTMAN BLOCK
Malo Gusto is allowed to sneak in down the Chelsea right and finds Alejandro Garnacho in the middle, with the Argentinian shooting at goal, but Joel Veltman slides in and blocks it behind for a corner. Alert defending and much needed.
65'
BIG SANCHEZ SAVES
And the former Albion keeper stops this game being out of reach for the visitors. Ferdi Kadioglu has the ball played into his stride by Kaoru Mitoma and he's in on goal. He cuts past Trevoh Chalobah and attempts to roll it into the bottom right corner, but Sanchez tips it away superbly. The Turkish defender then unleashes a terrific strike from 20 yards, which Sanchez dives to his right and claws away. Another fabulous save.
62'
NEARLY OUT OF THIS WORLD FROM MITOMA
Well we nearly witnessed one of the great goals of all time. Kaoru Mitoma brings the ball down 18 yards from the Chelsea goal, he flicks it over the head of Pedro Neto who closes him down, takes a touch to keep it in the air and then just bends it narrowly wide of the top right corner. If that had gone in then the roof would've come off.
57'
Yellow Card
Yankuba Minteh goes into the book for catching Marc Cucurella on the ankle when challenging for the ball.

Hinshelwood
YYYEEEESSSSS!!!! 2-0 TO THE ALBION!!!
Georginio wins a 50/50 in the middle of the park and all of a sudden Albion are in. The Frenchman runs at Trevoh Chalobah before rolling it to Jack Hinshelwood and he tucks it in the bottom left corner from 15 yards!
54'
MITOMA DRAGS IT WIDE
Moises Caicedo's clearance in the Chelsea box ricochets off Georginio and lands at the feet of Pascal Gross. He plays it into Kaoru Mitoma who swivels 12 yards from goal and drags it wide of the bottom right corner with his left boot.
47'
LAVIA CURLS OVER
Alejandro Garnacho cuts in from the left and finds Romeo Lavia on the edge of the box, with the former Southampton man curling over the top right corner from 20 yards.
46'
Substitution
Changes for both teams at the beginning of the second half. Joel Veltman replaces Mats Wieffer, while Alejandro Garnacho has come on for Wesley Fofana.
45'+2'
Half-Time
A really strong half from Albion. The only concern is that we didn't score more.
45'+1'
Yellow Card
Wesley Fofana gets hold of Georginio on the halfway line and doesn't let the Albion forward go. Yellow card.

EXCELLENT BOSCAGLI INTERCEPTION
Ferdi Kadioglu and Carlos Baleba are both beaten on the Albion left and Chelsea have a good attacking opportunity. Malo Gusto crosses in with Liam Delap running through the middle, but Olivier Boscagli slides in to put it behind for a corner. Decent defending.
35'
TEN MINUTES OF THE HALF TO GO
Albion have been full value for their lead after 35 minutes of action. Bart Verbruggen is yet to be tested, while Rob Sanchez has had to pull off a couple of decent saves to ensure his team are still in the contest. The home fans have been excellent in their booing of our former players who are now in the Chelsea ranks.
Ferdi enjoyed that one - his first goal since scoring at Anfield in November 2024.
The moment Ferdi put us in front.
20'
SANCHEZ TIPS AWAY
Georginio gets down the left of the Chelsea box and looks to cross in, but it ends up being more of a shot that's heading into the top left corner, which forces Rob Sanchez to reach up and push it away from goal.
18'
HUGE CHANCE FOR HINSHELWOOD
Rob Sanchez passes the ball straight to Carlos Baleba. The Cameroonian finds Hinshelwood in the middle of the box for what looks like a tap in, but Trevoh Chalobah clears it off the line!
14'
SANCHEZ SAVES FROM VAN HECKE
Ferdi Kadioglu is the architect of that attack as he wins the ball off Neto and then leaves the winger in his wake. Albion work it out to the other side and Pascal Gross crosses in, Jan Paul van Hecke meets it, but his superb header is well saved by Rob Sanchez, sending it over the crossbar for a corner. Excellent football.

Albion have the lead!
Pascal Gross' corner is flicked across goal by Jorrel Hato, Georginio gets a touch but it's Ferdi who gets the last one, drilling the ball home from ten yards!

HE NEARLY DOES IT AGAIN!
It's a near carbon-copy of Kaoru Mitoma's goal against Tottenham at the weekend as Pascal Gross swings in a cross from the right, the Japan international sneaks at the back to volley it, but Rob Sanchez tips it over for a corner!

EARLY PRESSURE FROM ALBION
Albion work it down the left before Georginio sees his cross cleared.

THE FACTS AHEAD OF KICK-OFF
Brighton have won their last two league games against Chelsea, as many times as they had in their first 19 against the Blues (D4 L13).
Having been unbeaten in their first five Premier League away games against Brighton (W3 D2), Chelsea have now lost two of their last three visits to the Amex Stadium (W1).
Since the start of 2022/23, Brighton have scored 2+ goals in six of their seven league games against Chelsea, netting 17 times in total (2.4 per game). Between 1983/84 and 2021/22, they never scored more than once in 14 league games against Chelsea, netting just six goals in that time (0.4 per game).
Chelsea have lost two of their last four Premier League games when scoring first against Brighton, including in the reverse fixture at Stamford Bridge. The only two occasions that the Blues have scored first and lost both games against a team in one Premier League season were in 1992/93 vs Norwich and 2009/10 vs Manchester City.
THREE CHANGES FOR ALBION
Fabian Hurzeler has made three changes to the team that drew 2-2 with Tottenham on Saturday for tonight's game against Chelsea.
Georginio Rutter, Carlos Baleba and Kaoru Mitoma are named in the starting XI, with Yasin Ayari and Danny Welbeck dropping to the bench, while Diego Gomez misses out through injury.
Lewis Dunk is only named on the bench on his return from suspension, with Olivier Boscagli keeping his spot in the starting XI.

GOMEZ'S INJURY NOT AS BAD AS PREVIOUSLY FEARED
The Paraguayan was withdrawn midway through the first half against Tottenham, having landed heavily after challenging for a header.
"Diego won't be available [to face Chelsea]," Hurzeler said in his press conference on Monday. "But it's quite positive news - it's not as bad as we expected. We have to go week by week now, but hopefully it's not an injury that rules him out for months.
"We have to be patient and see how it develops, but it's definitely not a big injury.
"It's something with his knee. He had a scan and we have to re-scan him in a few days to be clear as to what it is. But what I can say is that it's not as bad as some of us expected it to be."
HURZELER: WE SHOULD EMBRACE WHAT WE'VE WORKED FOR
Fabian Hurzeler has said 'togetherness' is what got Albion through their tough run earlier in the campaign and the recent run of form gives them the opportunity to enjoy tonight's game against Chelsea.
"I think it's togetherness that we showed and now we are in a position where we should really embrace what we all worked hard for.
"Now it's about enjoying these moments, enjoying these kind of games because I think it's a great opportunity for us to grow."
