That would have not been the way to mark his 500th appearance. Guessand gets down the right of the box and crosses low. Dunk intercepts but it's heading towards the bottom right corner. Fortunately Verbruggen is there to tip it away. It's a very good save and keeps us in the game.

If there's something we've learned from this Albion team is how good they are at fighting back from a goal down. De Cuyper curls a free-kick from the right into a crowd of bodies in the box and it's deflected behind for a corner. Carlos Baleba has sparked into life and is taking the midfield by the scruff of the neck.

Villa have a sustained spell of possession inside the Albion box and it ends with Maatsen rifling a shot from the left of the box straight into the arms of Verbruggen.

After the excitement of the first half this game has lacked a bit of control from either team. Both are becoming a bit frustrated. No idea which was this will go.

Goal: Long ball from Rogers gets Watkins away down the middle and his right-foot shot beats Verbruggen. Great finish but a poor goal from Albion's point of view.

Watkins is played in on goal. The striker looks absolutely certain to score, but his curler is tipped over incredibly by Bart Verbruggen. The flag then goes up for offside. That was genuinely world class.

The referee points for a corner, but VAR review it to see if it's a penalty. They opt to go with the on-field decision. It's subjective. If the referee gives a penalty, VAR wouldn't overturn it. Possibly a let off for us and Carlos there.

De Cuyper bends the free-kick over the wall and Bizot gets fingertips on it to tip it over for a corner.

No idea how Morgan Rogers isn't booked there. The midfielder ploughs into the back of Brajan Gruda about 22 yards from the Villa goal. This is a great free-kick position though.

This might see the early withdrawal of Stefanos Tzimas. The striker goes down holding his knee, but is back on his feet. He's now gone down the tunnel. Jack Hinshelwood gets ready to come on.
