For a moment it looks as if Brentford's dangerman Thiago is going to get a shot away from inside the box, but he's crowded out and opts to tee up Kayode on the edge of the box. His strike is decent, but it's straight into the hands of Verbruggen.

The Turkey international wins the ball from a Brentford corner and just goes for it. The visitors are racing to get back with Minteh and Georginio supporting Kadioglu, but he opts to go alone, shooting from 20 yards and dragging it a couple of yards wide of the bottom left corner!

Jack Hinshelwood, back from injury, replaces Diego Gomez. That gives the crowd a lift.

Decent save from the Brentford keeper as Minteh gets away from two Bees defenders and smacks the ball at goal from a tight angle, which Kelleher gets a strong palm on to tip behind for a corner.

Diego Gomez tries to hurry up Outtara's substitution by pushing the Brentford player in the back, but the referee isn't impressed and books the Paraguayan.

A wonderfully worked move by Albion ends with a disappointing strike. Max De Cuyper plays the ball with the outside of his boot to Wieffer running into the box down the right, he pulls it back across for Welbeck to strike first time from ten yards, but he sends it over! Cutting move, nearly rewarded.

Georginio has been Albion's creative force in this game and he has a decent penalty shout as he goes to ground in the box. It looks like he's caught by a trailing leg, but the contact isn't sufficient enough for Chris Kavanagh to give a spot-kick.

That's never troubling Kelleher. Danny shoots from the free-kick (see previous post), but it's about seven yards over the goal.

Georginio wins a free-kick in a very dangerous area, just outside of the box to the left. He's brought down by Outtara who clips his heels. The Brentford man picks up a booking.

Having got a volley all wrong earlier on, the Brentford man goes a lot closer with that strike. A Brentford corner is cleared to the edge of the box and Yarmoliuk hits it beautifully, but sends it a yard ofer the top right corner.

Georginio dances along the edge of the box before letting loose with a low shot from 18 yards, but it's straight into the arms of Kelleher. The surface is so slick and the ball is moving incredibly quickly.

The striker should hit that first time as Albion work it across the box to Danny, but he takes a touch and then slices his shot over.

Yasin Ayari wins the ball deep on the right of the Brentford half. Wieffer then plays him in down the flank to cross, but his left foot touches the ball before his right and he kicks it straight behind for a goal-kick, sending himself flying in the process. One to immediately forget about that, Yasin.

Olivier Boscagli takes out Thiago just outside the Albion box on the right. It's definitely a foul, a yellow feels a bit harsh.

That's the first real opportunity of the game and it starts with terrific play from Welbeck. The striker wins it off Damsgaard before finding Gomez. He switches it out to the right for Minteh who ties Ajer up in knots before back-heeling it into the path of Wieffer inside the box, but his thumped first-time effort is straight at Kelleher who tips it behind for a corner! A really smart piece of play. More of that please.

Fabian Hurzeler has revealed why Lewis Dunk isn't in the starting XI this afternoon. "Lewis had a small issue during the week, so we are just protecting him. We have to protect his health, but it's nothing big." The head coach won't be on the touchline this afternoon either, as he serves a one-match suspension. "I always say it's a player's game, so the players are well prepared, they're in good shape. "It's about performance on the pitch and I'm quite confident and have a big belief in my players and my staff that they will handle it well on the pitch and beside the pitch."
