How on earth is that not a penalty? Minteh is kicked in the head in the box. It's a high boot, it's dangerous play, it's a penalty, or at least it should be. VAR look for a long time and say no foul.

This has to be a penalty to Albion. Minteh gets to the ball first to head the ball and Gusto kicks him in the head. Hooper doesn't give it, but it's stonewall penalty, surely. VAR are looking now.

Another double Albion change as Maxim De Cuyper and Stef Tzimas replace Diego Gomez and Georginio.

That's a good chance as van Hecke wins the ball on the edge of the Chelsea area and forces the ball through for Welbeck to run onto. He has to stretch and he's pulling the trigger from an angle on the right, and sends it just the wrong side of the opposite post! That's our best chance of the game. More of that please.

Georginio slips the ball through for Minteh - James comes across to try and block him but Yankuba still gets to the ball before him and Rob Sanchez, but he can only direct it wide from 15 yards!

Two Albion changes. Danny Welbeck and Brajan Gruda replace Carlos Baleba and Kaoru Mitoma.

Wieffer goes into the book for bringing down Neto just outside the Albion box on the left.

Reece James requires treatment after landing awkwardly when challenging for the ball in the air with Kaoru Mitoma. It looks as if the Chelsea skipper will be able to carry on for now.

Mitoma plays a one-two with Kadioglu down the left of the Chelsea box, but Caicedo intercepts the return pass. He blasts the ball into Mitoma though and it deflects off the winger and wide of goal. That could have gone anywhere.

Mats Wieffer replaces Joel Veltman, who was playing with that yellow card hanging over him.

Chalobah is given is marching orders. He heads straight down the tunnel. Albion have a free-kick right on the edge of the box. Huge opportunity now.

CHELSEA COULD BE DOWN TO TEN. Chalobah clearly trips Diego Gomez when the Paraguayan runs through on goal. Hooper doesn't give the decision, but VAR have intervened. This will surely see Chelsea go down to ten men.

Chelsea get the second half started.

Chelsea lead after 45 minutes.

The skipper slaps the ground in frustration, he should have probably done better with that. Ayari takes the resulting free-kick (see previous post), crossing in a lovely ball which Dunk meets in the middle, but he heads well over from 12 yards.

Marc Cucurella is really late on Diego Gomez on the right. It's a yellow card and an Albion free-kick in a decent position on the flank.

Minteh is played down the right again by Georginio, he sees Ayari on the edge of the box and plays it into his path, but Simon Hooper is just standing there and completely obstructs the Swede from shooting. Not sure you'll see that too often. Yasin is furious and the away end let the ref know exactly what they think of that, as does Fabian Hurzeler.

That's brilliant from Carlos as he wins the ball high up and plays Minteh down the right. The Gambian takes a touch and swings the ball into the six yard box, but Georginio is a few yards off and it's behind for a goal kick.

That looks as if it's stopped us going 1-0 down. Baleba loses the ball close to his own box. Joao Pedro slips Estevao in and he shoots, but van Hecke flies in to block it behind for a corner.

Joel Veltman wins the ball off Enzo with a sliding challenge. It's a perfectly good tackle, but Enzo starts rolling around. Referee Simon Hooper buys it and gives Joel a yellow card. The replay is even worse, there's such minimal contact. It's just not a yellow card. Now Joel has to walk a tightrope for 81 minutes.

An Albion corner is worked short before Ayari crosses in from the edge of the area. It's excellently weighted and looks bound for the head of Veltman, but it gets a touch from a Chelsea head and the chance is gone!

Neto gets down the left of the Albion box and thumps a shot at goal, but it's blocked behind by a brilliant Joel Veltman sliding challenge.

Bart Verbruggen gets a big paw on Enzo Fernandez's free-kick from 25-yards, tipping it behind for a corner. It's a really good save. Not 100% sure if it's going in or not, but the keeper needed to get a touch to be sure.

Here's what Fabian Hurzeler had to say on Diego Gomez after the Paraguayan scored four in midweek. "When you ask him what is his favourite position, he answers that he can play everywhere because he has this ability where he's good in every position. "He's very disciplined against the ball. He has a big danger when he attacks the opponent's box. He has a good shot. He proved it in the last game. "So overall, he's a player that can play in several positions. For us, it's about figuring out where he can be the most effective and then we have to make the right decision." It will be interesting to see where he starts this afternoon.
