Albion finish the first half of the season by entertaining Tottenham Hotspur at the Broadfield Stadium in the WSL on Saturday. A victory could lift Dario Vidosic’s side up to fifth.
Team news
Albion still have seven players out injured but there are no new worries after Wednesday's 6-2 win over Bristol City in the League Cup. “There are no changes to the squad,” said Vidosic.
Dario Vidosic on…
Spurs… “They are a good side and it’s going to be a tough game. They have the best pressing stats in the league and set really good pressing traps so that is something we need to be wary of. I think we’ll see two attacking teams and it should be a good showcase for the WSL, but they are a tough opponent.”
On going into the break on a high… “We’re fifth at the moment and it would be nice to go into the break higher but I’m satisfied so far. It’s not so much about the ladder, because that’s only relevant at the end of the season, or reaching the quarter-finals of the League Cup, it’s more about the evolution of the team and how much we have progressed. The girls have done a really good job but there’s loads more we can improve on.”
On player adaptability… “Especially when we have got injuries in the squad it’s important that players are comfortable in multiple positions and we have that. On Wednesday we had Bruna Vilamala in a wide position but she can also step inside and is good in tight areas, which makes it difficult for the opposition.”
