Our women’s under-19s beat Crystal Palace at the American Express Elite Football Performance Centre.
A first-half goal from Olivia Johnson gave Albion the lead before Palace were awarded a penalty against the run of play to equalise before the break. Palace went 2-1 up in the second half but Patience Fergus equalised and then Albion won the subsequent penalty shoot-out.

Head coach Dani Bowman said, "It was exactly what we thought would happen against a team that plays in a mid block, so we had to be patient on the ball.
"We had some really good spells and movement in the game, but I'm pleased that we at least got the extra point by winning the penalty shoot-out.
"We have had a tough run of results, but being in a development and pathway phase there are always positives to take. The younger players have enjoyed the opportunity to step up and challenge themselves in a group environment, but also individually against high calibre players as well.
"We know the squad has more potential - we just need to keep working on some finer details.
Danielle Bowman watches on from the sideline.
"We are still working with a very young group and we had two under-16 players in our squad against Palace. That's a challenge, but we're getting there and the team has just got to stick together and keep finding a way to win. One of our strengths of the academy is that we're not afraid to pull players up and play them at a higher age group."
