Head coach Dario Vidosic was delighted with a ‘professional’ performance by Albion who reached the quarter-finals of the League Cup.
There were five different scorers in the 6-2 home win over Bristol City on Wednesday which sealed top place in Group D with Nikita Parris coming off the bench to score twice after earlier goals from Bruna Vilamala, Rachel McLauchlan, Pauline Bremer and Michelle Agyemang.
“It was a positive night and a professional performance - we played some nice stuff,” said the head coach.
“We wanted to be a bit more patient. We have three games in a week and were coming off a tough game against Chelsea on Sunday when we played with a lot of intensity, so we wanted to control the game and play in small areas in their half and limit their transitions.

“For large parts we did that and with a thinner squad at the moment it means we can go into Saturday’s game against Spurs as fresh as we possibly can. We played our football and to have five different scorers was really pleasing too.
“There were some great finishes and for the second goal we kept the ball for something like two minutes before scoring.
“Pauline Bremer’s was a great finish into the top corner and it just showed the goal threat we have throughout the team.”
Albion will be joined in the quarter-final draw by Manchester United, Durham, West Ham United and Spurs with Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City entering the competition at this stage.
