Kiko Seike may have grabbed the headlines with a debut hat-trick but Albion head coach Dario Vidosic was delighted with his team's overall performance after his first match as head coach ended in a 4-0 win.

Seike’s treble and a penalty by another debutant Fran Kirby were the highlights of an impressive opening-day display against Everton at the Broadfield Stadium.
Vidosic said, “The message was just to be brave and play our football. We were more focused on having a good positive performance because when you do that then you get the rewards. I think the girls got their rewards today and I’m thoroughly pleased for them.

“There is no better way to start and Kiko was fantastic. It’s something we have worked on - trying to get her in good positions because we know she has ability to score goals as well. I think she was a threat all afternoon. Her and Fran Kirby had a really good connection on that right side and they were threatening all day.”
Seike put Albion in front with a chip, headed in her second before belting a right-foot shot into the top corner to complete her hat-trick.
“I think probably on the last goal I might have been yelling out for her to pass so good thing she didn't listen and put it in the top corner instead!” added Vidosic. “Fran Kirby scored a penalty, but her overall class in midfield really showed that she's still a top WSL player.

“We did have moments in the game that were tough because they were a very good team, but six weeks into our journey to put on a performance like that in round one and to get four goals was great from the whole team. We will enjoy it then we'll put out feet firmly back on the ground because we know we've got a tough trip and a tough game next weekend against Manchester City.”
