Men’s under-21s head coach Shannon Ruth is looking forward to seeing his team ‘evolve’ in the second half of the season.
Ruth’s team has a very different look to it compared to the start of January, with Imari Samuels, Cam Peupion, Ruairi McConville, Ed Turns and Marcus Ifill leaving on permanent transfers, while Louis Flower and Caylan Vickers headed out on loan.
“Obviously we're going into the game off the back of the transfer window," Ruth said. "So we're really excited for a lot of the players that have gone out on loan to got some positive opportunities that they've worked really hard for.

“We’re really pleased for them and we wish them all the best on the next part of their journey, whether it be a permanent or the guys that have left out on loan.
“What we do know is that the group is forever evolving. We move forward into the second part of the season with real optimism. We’re excited for the team to evolve and for the younger players coming into the team.”
The under-21s are in Premier League Cup action on Tuesday night, as they take on Luton Town at St Albans City’s Clarence Park.

“It's our last game in the Premier League Cup and we know a positive result gets us out of the group," Ruth continued. "We're striving to do that. We're looking forward to the game.
“Luton were a tough opponent earlier this season, so we know we're in for a tough game, and we know we have to be our best to get a positive result."
