Our men’s under-21s will be looking to reach the semi-finals of the Premier League International Cup for the first time when they take on Athletic Bilbao tonight.
Albion were beaten quarter-finalists in the 2022/23 season by Valencia, before losing to West Ham at the same stage last season.

“The group are looking forward to the game,” under-21s head coach Shannon Ruth said. “It certainly has a slightly different feel to it when a team from overseas comes to our training ground.
“We're really pleased that the opposition is one of the teams from overseas because that's what makes the competition unique and it’s why we enjoy it so much, because of the different challenges that it gives the young players.”
“We've done well but we want to go one step further because this is the third successive year that we've reached the quarter-final.
"This is one of three quarter-finals that we're in and we were successful in the quarters of the Sussex Senior Cup against Whitehawk.
Tonight’s game will be a number of players’ first experience of the International Cup, having recently made the step up from the under-18s.
“There are some players experiencing the International Cup for the first time,” Ruth added. “That's part of what we do as the team evolve, it means different experiences for different players. The younger players coming into the group have added a real freshness.”
