James Beadle pulled off a heroic second-half penalty save to help ten-man Sheffield Wednesday secure a vital victory against Stoke City on Saturday.
The Owls won 2-0 at Hillsborough despite DiâShon Bernard being sent off in the first half with the scores still level, and Beadle had to be at his best to keep Tom Cannonâs powerful header out and then save the strikerâs late penalty with a strong left hand.
Andrew Moran played 67 minutes for Stoke but couldnât prevent the defeat, and speaking after the match, Beadle said: âI feel like Iâm going from strength to strength. We have a really good group here and we all want to do well.
âIâve really enjoyed my year here, I have definitely improved as a goalkeeper. The fans have been really good to me. The atmosphere was unreal so long may it continue.
âWeâre looking up rather than down heading into the second half of the season.â
