Two first-half goals without reply ensured our men’s under-18s got the first win of 2025 under their belts.
Arthur Brammer’s team had narrowly lost 4-3 to Chelsea last weekend and looked to make amends from that defeat quickly as they took the lead after just five minutes.
A move that involved goalkeeper Alfie Mansell saw Tyler Silsby get down the left and cross in and although Aiden West couldn’t quite reach on the stretch Nehemiah Oriola was there to fire in from eight yards.
Albion struck again just before half-time when a cross from the right was cut out by a West Ham defender, with Darius Lane first to the loose ball to slot home.
Brammer said, “It was a great result against a good West Ham team. It was nice to keep a clean sheet as well. I was really happy with the performance in and out of possession.
"I am particularly proud of the work rate of the boys. The sprints and high speed running efforts of the players was excellent.
"It was a real squad effort. All the subs used came on and made a positive impact, finishing off the good work that the starters had made. It was a really positive day for the staff and the players. It’s a result to build on as we go into a busy week."
