Our men’s under-18s suffered a late defeat in their top of the table clash with Aston Villa on Saturday.
After a goalless 90 minutes of action, Villa defender Calum Moreland struck in the first minute of stoppage time to secure all three points for his team.
Albion retain their place in second in the league, with the gap between themselves and top spot opening up to six points.
Men’s under-18s head coach Inigo Calderon said, “It’s a hard one to take because they scored in the last minute, especially as the boys were really good. I'm more proud, more happy with the game than other ones, maybe even the ones where we’ve got something from them.
“The way we faced the game and we competed was really good.
“Maybe we were not as clean or tidy as we should have been for a chance to get the three points. But we competed and fought and concentrated really hard. It's true that in the last minutes of the game, we started to feel tired and then the ideas and the execution were not great.
“But I am really proud of them because I think they fought really hard to get something. We don’t change, we just keep working harder.”
