Fabian Hurzeler believes that Kaoru Mitoma was ‘having fun’ on his return to action for Albion.
The Japan international played the first 45 minutes of our 5-1 win over Kashima Antlers on Wednesday – marking Kaoru’s first appearance since suffering a back injury in February.
“I am very happy and satisfied with his performance,” Hurzeler said. “When I watched his performance, I could feel that he was having fun from the bottom of his heart.
“He was able to play in this way in this country, and everyone was looking forward to seeing his face. I think that was shown in all his performance.
“When he touched the ball, he always tried to do something. As a team, we want to support him as much as we can, and we are very proud of him. Very much.”
Albion round off their pre-season tour of Japan on Sunday, when they face Tokyo Verdy at the National Stadium.
