Malick Yalcouye was the star of the show for Sturm Graz as he helped Die Schwoazn go top of the Austrian Bundesliga.
Alongside fellow Albion loanee Kjell Scherpen, who was in goal for the full 90, Yalcouye smashed home a 92nd minute winner against Grazer AK after his teammate, Otar Kiteishvili equalised six minutes earlier.
It was a thrilling match befitting of the league’s thrilling title race, which sees Sturm in top spot above Austria Wien thanks to their superior goal difference.
Elsewhere in Europe, Abdallah Sima also scored as Stade Brest beat Angers 2-0 at home in Ligue 1, with our striker playing 45 minutes, while Stefanos Tzimas, who joined us in January before heading back to Nurnberg in 2. Bundesliga until the end of the season, assisted his side’s winner in their 1-0 victory at Preussen Munster.
Valentin Barco was also on the winning side as Strasbourg beat Nantes 1-0, with the Argentine playing the full 90 in France’s top tier, but there was no weekend action in the Netherlands so Ibrahim Osman and Feyenoord didn’t play after their midweek defeat to Inter in the Champions League.
Back in the Premier League, Facundo Buonanotte was on for the final 17 minutes of Leicester’s battling display at Chelsea, but the Foxes lost 1-0, while Julio Enciso returned to Ipswich’s starting XI after injury, but couldn’t prevent the Tractor Boys from losing 1-0 at Crystal Palace.
In the league below, James Beadle was in goal for Sheffield Wednesday as the Owls returned to winning ways with an impressive 3-0 victory at Plymouth, and Jeremy Sarmiento’s Burnley won 4-0 against Luton with the midfielder playing the final 30, but Andrew Moran and Amario Cozier-Duberry were on the losing side.
Moran played the first half of Stoke’s 3-2 defeat against Coventry, with the Sky Blues snatching victory in the 94th minute, while Cozier-Duberry was on for the final eight minutes as Blackburn lost 2-1 at Derby.
Further down the EFL in League One, Odel Offiah’s return from injury coincided with Blackpool’s return to form as the Tangerines beat Barnsley 3-0 away, Kamari Doyle assisted Crawley’s goal in their 1-1 draw with Reading and Caylan Vickers played the full 90 as Mansfield drew 1-1 at Stevenage.
In League Two, Luca Barrington’s Grimsby beat league leaders Walsall 3-1, with our midfielder on for the final ten minutes.
