Kamari Doyle was the star of the show for Crawley Town over the weekend as the Red Devils earned a crucial three points against Bristol Rovers in their battle avoid League One relegation.
Doyleâs solitary strike in the 1-0 win against Inigo Calderonâs side was the 19-year-oldâs fourth in 11 games for Crawley, and his seventh goal involvement since joining them in January â the most of any teenager in Englandâs top-four tiers during that time.
Crawley are now nine points off safety, with Scott Lindsey back at the club with eight games of the season remaining, after Rob Elliott departed on Thursday.
Odel Offiah was also in League One action on Saturday as Blackpool made it three wins from four to keep their play-off aspirations alive.
The Tangerines beat Northampton Town 2-0 at Sixfields thanks to goals from Ashley Fletcher and Niall Ennis either side of half-time, with Offiah playing the full 90 for Steve Bruceâs side.
In the league below, Luca Barrington played 73 minutes for Grimsby Town as the Mariners climbed back into the play-off places with a 1-0 win against Newport County while north of the border, Ben Jacksonâs 23-minute cameo for Queenâs Park couldnât prevent them from losing 2-1 at Greenock Morton.
Elsewhere, there was Womenâs Championship action for Hannah Poulter on Saturday as Portsmouth played out a 0-0 draw with their south coast rivals, Southampton.
Having gone winless in their first 14 games of the season, two victories before the weekendâs draw against Saints means Pompey are now unbeaten in three and two points clear of the relegation zone.
