It was a week of defeats for our players out on loan, although for some there’s still plenty to play for heading into the final games of the league season.
Kjell Scherpen and Malick Yalcouye were in the starting XI for Sturm Graz after they were beaten 3-1 by Rapid Vienna, but they can still clinch the Austrian Bundesliga with a point on the final day at home to Wolfsberger.
Strasbourg’s incredible end of season form hit the brakes at the wrong time with a 3-2 defeat to Le Harve. Valentin Barco started for Strasbourg, who could still achieve Europa Conference League football l if PSG win the Coupe de France against Reims this weekend.
It was also a disappointing end to the campaign for Stade Brest and Abdallah Sima, as they were beaten 6-0 by Nice. It was a decent season overall for Brest, who finished ninth.
In the Premier League, Julio Enciso played 70 minutes in Ipswich Town’s 2-0 defeat to Leicester City – Facundo Buonanotte was an unused substitute for the Foxes. Evan Ferguson was also an unused substitute for West Ham, who were beaten 2-1 at home by Nottingham Forest.
