Goalkeepers
Kjell Scherpen’s Sturm Graz maintained their place at the top of the Austrian Bundesliga with a 2-1 away win over TSV Hartberg – midfielder Malick Yalcouye also played the played the full 90 minutes for the reigning league champions.
The Steel City derby didn’t turn out the way James Beadle wished as Sheffield Wednesday suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Sheffield United, but there was better news in League Two for MK Dons and Tom McGill, as they made it four consecutive wins with a 3-1 victory over Swindon Town.
In the Women’s National League, Plymouth came from behind to win 4-3 against Gwalia United – Comfort Erhabor was an unused substitute for the Green Army.
Defenders
West Ham enjoyed their first win of the WSL season. Li Mengwen played 90 minutes in the Irons’ 1-0 win over Leicester City, moving them up to ninth spot.
Odel Offiah couldn’t stop Blackpool’s slump continuing as they were beaten 3-0 by Leyton Orient in League One, while Valentin Barco was an unused substitute in in Sevilla’s 1-0 La Liga defeat to Leganes.
Midfielders
Grimsby Town continued their climb up the League 2 table, with Luca Barrington helping the Mariners to a 1-0 win over AFC Wimbledon, lifting them into the play-off spots.
Facundo Buonanotte couldn’t stop Leicester City slipping to a 3-0 defeat to Manchester United, and in the Championship Andrew Moran played 70 minutes of Stoke City’s 1-1 draw with Millwall.
In League One, Kamari Doyle was a late substitute in Exeter City’s 1-0 win over Charlton Athletic and Samy Chouchane was brought on to help Northampton Town seal a 1-1 draw with high-flying Birmingham City.
Forwards
Lily Dent scored the equaliser for Pompey in their 1-1 draw with Sheffield United in the Women’s Championship, after Grace McEwen had earlier come close to getting on the scoresheet for Portsmouth.
Abdallah Sima played last half an hour of Stade Brest’s 3-1 defeat to Montpellier, while Mark O’Mahony was an unused substitute in Portsmouth's 3-1 win over Preston North End in the Championship.
