Fabian Hurzeler has given an update on the fitness of Danny Welbeck ahead of Saturday's home game against Wolves.
The striker was stretchered off in our 1-0 win over Newcastle United after an innocuous coming together with Magpies defender Fabian Schar.
The signs are positive though, with Welbeck due to join in team training on Thursday.
"It's too early to say if he can play or not, but he will train today and then we will see afterwards how this training session goes and then we will make a decision," Hurzeler said.
"He got hit on a nerve and when you get a hit on the nerve you don't feel the leg for an amount of time and that’s what happened. It can be very painful and it's still painful for him.
"But again, we have to make a check today in the training session and then he has to have a lot of treatment.
"Our medical staff and our physios are working every hour with him together to make him fit for the game. This will be the challenge for us, but hopefully everything will be good."
