Danny Welbeck was all smiles after scoring his 100th career club goal in all competitions in the 2-1 win against Manchester United.
Danny’s goal, his second of the season, gave Albion a first-half lead and Joao Pedro scored the winner in added time after Amad Diallo had equalised.
“It was amazing,” he said. “A great afternoon to get three points in the dying moments of the game, and in the first home game of the season.
“I think you could tell from the celebrations all the adrenaline that was rushing through everybody, it was an amazing feeling.
“But the win was the most important and now we can focus on having a good training week and getting ready for next week.

“It was a good one to get. You know coming up against United they have some incredible talent.”
Danny’s opener, from a pass by Kaoru Mitoma, was also his sixth goal against his former club. No other Old Trafford old boy has netted more against them.
Moreover, Albion have now won five of the past six games against the Red Devils and have the best points-per-game record of any club against them.
So are United sick of the sight of Danny and Albion in general? “Well, they are good stats – the six goals for me and the five wins in six,” he said.
“I hope it continues. We will go for the win against every single team although we know that will not be easy. It’s the Premier League, they are all tough.”

Yet Danny still gets appreciation from his former fans.
“I do feel as if I have managed to maintain a good connection with the fans and good feeling with my former clubs including United.
“With the United fans, they know that once you get on the pitch it is business and you want to win – that is how I have been brought up.
“That is how I was brought up at Man United, they taught me that to try and win every single game and even training session. That’s what I try to do.”
Two wins in two games under new head coach Fabian Hurzeler suggests that Albion are back on track after an inconsistent end to last season. And the late winner and some attacking substitutions hint a winning mentality.
“There is more intensity about us this season, the way we set out to play,” Danny says. “We set out to do that too last season but it was difficult with all the players out through injury.
“The squad depth was not as strong as it could have been and it looks like that has been rectified this season. We have got a lot of players raring to go.
“So we look forward to what should be exciting times and being ready for every game.
“The manager tells us never to give up, however hard the game has been and whoever we are playing against. So all credit to the boys in the dressing room for having that mentality.”
