Every matchday, no matter how early the hour, fans across the United States gather to cheer on the Albion.
Ahead of the 2023 Premier League Summer Series, we were delighted to have Stateside Seagulls sign up as our first US based supporters’ club. Founded in 2016 by Paul Dorsey, Stateside Seagulls have followed us on our Premier League journey and grown to over 1,000 members all over the US.
Our US supporters’ clubs now number over six, and stretch across the continent from Houston to Philadelphia. Each week the clubs meet at pubs across the country to cheer on the Seagulls.
Our supporters in the US all have different reasons for their connection to the Albion.
Michael McConnell, founder of Seagulls On Hudson, our New York based supporters’ club, has family ties to Sussex which led to his love of the Albion.
“My great grandma was born and raised in Sussex and was an Albion supporter. Every weekend supporting the Seagulls is a way of honouring her memory and I couldn’t be more proud."
The Seagulls on Hudson have their own matchday tradition says McConnell. “Our typical matchday is heading to Newburgh Brewing company and enjoying delicious food and drinks with all the supporters in the Hudson Valley and surrounding areas!”

John Fitzpatrick, founder of Philly Seagulls, started following the Albion in 2013 after studying at the University of Sussex. Since then, John’s group has grown as he continually meets more supporters in the Philadelphia area. You can find them each week at Hilltown Tavern in Philadelphia’s Fairmount neighbourhood.

The US Albion supporter base continues through to the middle of the country where the Columbus Seagulls call home.
Luke Burton, founder of the Columbus Seagulls in Ohio, finds great positivity in his supporter activities. “Match days in Columbus are amazing. We meet up at Parsons North and talk as if we’ve known each other for years… It’s fair to say this club has unknowingly had a very positive impact on all of our lives."

With kick-off times as early as 6.30am, this does not deter the Houston Seagulls from meeting up on matchday.
"Houston's a big Premier League-supporting city," says Mark Worscheh, founder of the Houston group. Games at the Velvet Oak Tavern in Houston draw a robust group of fans largely new to supporting the Albion, but who are eager to travel and see the team at the Amex in 2026.
Proud to be the birthplace of Albion Manager, Fabian Hurzeler, Houston Seagulls meet up in numbers each week. “We recently lit a Texas-sized cupcake at the Velvet Oak to celebrate coach Hurzeler's birthday, as he was born here 32 years ago!"
