Albion royalty was on hand to help Air Ambulance Kent Surrey Sussex (KSS) launch the Restart a Heart campaign.
Ferdi Kadioglu, Joel Veltman, Maisie Symonds, Charlie Rule and Fatboy Slim were taught CPR and how to use a defibrillator at the Amex, to encourage members of the public to sign up for Air Ambulance’s CPR training that is taking place from 14-20 October.
The free course takes 30 minutes and will be available via online live streaming sessions and in-person events tailored to every age group.
Air Ambulance paramedic Ben Paul said, “We know from the data that actually us flying in the air ambulance isn't going to be quick enough for some of our patients.
“We can get anywhere in the south-east within half an hour. But for people in cardiac arrest, it's not quick enough. We know that survival falls by ten per cent for every minute CPR is delayed.
“We also know that 80 per cent of cardiac arrests happen in private residences So it's not likely to be a random person on the street [who needs treatment]. It's likely to be friends, family and loved ones.
“So actually getting these skills out there means people could save their family members, their friends, their loved ones and have them around the dinner table at Christmas.”
