Albion return to WSL action on Sunday when they take on Liverpool at Prenton Park in their last fixture before the two-week international break.
Team news
Head coach Mel Phillips reported no new concerns following Wednesday’s 3-1 win against West Ham United in the Conti Cup.
Head coach’s view
“We’ve taken a lot of positives from the last four league games and Wednesday. It’s been a tough block of fixtures but we’ve shown we are competitive with any team in the league and after we made changes and rotated against West Ham that we have strength in depth and options. I have faced [Liverpool head coach] Matt Beard’s teams before and I know Sunday will be a very difficult game.”
Recent meetings
At home Albion had to settle for a 3-3 draw last season despite leading 3-1 at one stage and in the reverse fixture in April the hosts won 2-1 despite a goal from Elisabeth Terland. The Norwegian also netted in the home fixture along with Danielle Carter and Katie Robinson.
Player to watch
Liverpool's Emma Koivisto battles with Vea Sarri during last season's 3-3 draw.
A familiar face in the Liverpool defence is right-back Emma Koivisto, who spent two seasons at Brighton prior to moving to the north-west in the summer of 2022. The Finland international, 29, made 37 appearances for Albion and scored three goals. She had played more than 60 times for her country.
