Albion’s men’s under-18s won their opening group game of the Premier League Cup when they comfortably defeated Stoke City.

Remiero Moulton was brought down in the penalty area after eight minutes having smartly got in down the left of the area before lobbing the ball over keeper Ruben Brammer, who took out the Albion man as the ball bounced narrowly wide of goal.

Ronnie Gorman took the spot-kick, burying the ball in the bottom right corner.

Charlie Tasker added the second nine minutes after the restart when his thunderbolt from 22 yards found the top right corner.

Moulton won his second penalty of the game on 75 minutes after running onto Harry Mills’s pass down the side of the box before he was clumsily tripped by a Stoke defender.

Gorman made no mistake again, this time firing the ball into the top right corner, sending Brammer the wrong way.

In the other match in Group A, Leicester City defeated Sunderland 2-1 which means Albion sit top of the group after one game.
