Albion inflicted Arsenal’s first defeat in Premier League South since September on Saturday with a superb 3-1 win.
Remiero Moulton, Josh Robertson and Shane Nti all got on the scoresheet as Inigo Calderon’s team made it three wins in four.
Victory didn’t appear to be on the cards early on though as the Gunners took the lead after just 75 seconds. Chido Obi-Martin rounded off a stunning team move to give his team the lead, but Moulton responded for Albion with a lovely lob to make it 1-1 after 28 minutes.
Arsenal keeper Brian Okonkwo was shown a straight red card 11 minutes into the second half for a lunging tackle on Aidan West on the edge of the box, with the extra man paving the way for Albion to take the lead.
West teed up January signing Robertson who saw his shot deflect in to give Albion the lead, before Nti made it three goals in four league outings as he took Robertson’s pass in his stride and rifled an effort into the bottom left corner in the 89th minute.

Calderon said, “I always say that we learn more when we lose, but this time the game was a really good lesson for everyone. We didn’t start the game well, we showed them too much respect because they are Arsenal. We had a good chat at half-time and the second half was much better.
“In the last few weeks we have proven that we can beat anyone in this league. We are Brighton, we’re not a small club anymore. When we go to London we go there to win. The first team go there wanting to win.
“It was good, we played well and it was good that we got the message across.”
