Carl Rushworth has won the European Under-21 Championship with England.
Lee Carsley’s team beat Spain 1-0 in the final to ensure England won the competition for the first time since 1984.
Rushworth was an unused substitute throughout the tournament, having been named in the squad off the back off an excellent campaign on loan in League One with Lincoln City.
Liverpool’s Curtis Jones was credited with the only goal of Sunday’s final after Manchester City’s Cole Palmer’s free-kick took a deflection off the midfielder.
Former on-loan defender Levi Colwill went close to heading England in front just beforehand, but his effort struck the crossbar.
There was late drama as Three Lions keeper James Trafford pulled off a remarkable double save, initially denying Abel Ruiz from the penalty spot before blocking the follow-up.
