Head coach Melissa Phillips praised Albion’s determination after they came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 against Leicester City in the WSL on Sunday.
Elisabeth Terland scored twice in the last ten minutes to take her tally for the season to seven which makes her the top goalscorer in the league. She has eight in total.
Albion are still without a home win this season but Phillips was pleased with the spirit her team showed.
“We know we still have things where we can improve but we have a great group and they kept going and got their rewards today,” said Phillips.
Elisabeth Terland was inches away from completing a hat-trick with this late chance.
“We gave away goals at bad times but the first goal back gave us momentum and it’s fantastic to see Teri convert those chances after a few games when she hasn’t.
“She always works so hard and is such a big part of this team and it would have been a shame had she not got on the scoresheet today.
Phillips also praised the contribution of Poppy Pattinson whose great cross was headed home by Terland to make it 2-2.
“Poppy came off the international break with England U23s in a really positive way and we knew with having a natural left-footer was something we could exploit. It was a brilliant ball delivered in for Teri to head home.”
