Andrew Moran received special praise from Blackburn Rovers boss Jon Dahl Tomasson for his all-action display in Rovers’ 5-2 win over Cardiff City in the third round of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday.
The Irishman notched two goals and two assists, as well as winning a penalty.
Tomasson told Rovers.co.uk, “He’s a quality player. Moran got two goals and should probably have got a hat-trick. He was involved with some assists as well.
“He can score goals, he can run with the ball, he takes one or two touches and can create chances. He works hard for the team, he’s very intelligent and is a very good boy.
“He’s not used to playing at this level and there’s a reason why Brighton chose Blackburn Rovers for him, it’s because of our similar style to Brighton.

“In the end, you need to do it, and it can be difficult. You need to take your chances and show you can play at a high level. I think the boy is doing that really well.”
The 19-year-old has now made seven appearances in all competitions for Blackburn, five of which have been starts.
