Danny Welbeck opened the scoring against Chelsea in our Premier League Summer Series match in Philadelphia on Saturday.

We play our second Premier League Summer Series match on Wednesday as we take on Brentford in Atlanta.

We kick-off at 5.30pm local time (10.30pm in the UK). Supporters outside the UK and USA can watch the game live on the club website, while Sky Sports will be showing the game in the UK and NBC will be broadcasting to our fans in the USA.

Roberto De Zerbi’s team were beaten 4-3 by Chelsea in the opening match of the series, as we played out the final 30 minutes with ten men following Jan Paul van Hecke’s red card.

The opposition

Brentford began their Summer Series with a 3-2 defeat to Fulham, with Yoane Wissa and Kristoffer Ajer on the scoresheet for the Bees.

Notable signings this summer for Thomas Frank include goalkeeper Mark Flekken and winger Kevin Schade from Freiburg, while Republic of Ireland international Nathan Collins was signed from Wolves.

The Bees enjoyed an impressive 2022/23 season, as they finished ninth in the Premier League, winning five of their final six matches.

Our last meeting

We played out a thoroughly entertaining 3-3 draw against Brentford when we met in April at The Amex. Kaoru Mitoma scored the pick of the goals as he raced onto Jason Steele’s magnificent ball over the top before lobbing David Raya in the Bees’ goal. It looked as if Brentford would come away with all three points, but Alexis Mac Allister converted from the penalty spot in the 90th minute to ensure the spoils were shared.
