Our men’s under-18s suffered a 2-0 home defeat to Chelsea on Saturday.
Shim Mheuka put his side in front after 11 minutes before a Harry Mills own goal on the half hour mark put the game beyond reach for Inigo Calderon’s team.
It sees Albion head into the international break sat tenth in Premier League South, with six points from their opening seven games.
“We didn’t start the game well,” Calderon admitted. “We have to think about that because we cannot afford to give away the first half or first 25 minutes or we’ll make it too complicated for ourselves.
“I am not sure why we did that – maybe we showed them too much respect. That’s a point of frustration for me because if we play the way we know we can, we can compete with any team in the division.
“We saw that in the second half because we were a lot better, but against any team, especially good teams like Chelsea, you cannot play well for just 45 minutes.
“We are going to work hard to get it right and we will get there, 100 per cent.”
