Oxford United were beaten by Port Vale in League One, as James Beadle conceded late on after the U’s went down to nine men. Jensen Weir enjoyed victory with Blackpool against his former side Wigan Athletic, while Cam Peupion made his debut for Cheltenham in a 2-0 defeat to Barnsley.
That result sees the Robins stay bottom of the third tier with just a point to their name after six matches – three points off 20th spot and safety. That position is currently occupied by Ed Turns’s Leyton Orient, as the defender started in a 3-0 defeat to Stevenage on Saturday.
Sitting in 15th, Northampton were on the wrong end of a 1-0 scoreline against Wycombe Wanderers, as Marc Leonard played the full 90 minutes for the Cobblers.

In the Netherlands, Vitesse Arnhem slipped to a 2-0 home defeat to AZ Alkmaar, with Kacper Kozlowski being subbed off at half-time.

Bailey Smith made his first start for Worthing, as the Rebels suffered their second defeat of the league season – a 4-0 defeat to Braintree.
