Sheffield Wednesday, Blackburn Rovers and Swansea City all secured important results at the weekend to help in their battle against relegation from the Championship, with a number of Albion players out on loan involved.

James Beadle helped Sheffield Wednesday to a third win in four games with a 2-1 victory over Bristol City, while Jeremy Sarmiento scored in Ipswich’s 3-1 win over Birmingham to make it four consecutive victories for the Tractor Boys.

Swansea put breathing space between themselves and the relegation zone with a 2-1 win at Sunderland, with Carl Rushworth making it 34 consecutive appearances for the Swans in the Championship.

Andrew Moran came on for the final 15 minutes of Blackburn’s 1-1 draw with Norwich City, while Yasin Ayari was an unused sub for Rovers.

Marc Leonard scored his fourth goal in six games as Northampton secured a 2-0 win over Burton Albion in League One, but Jensen Weir’s wait for a first win with Port Vale goes on as they were beaten 2-0 at home by Lincoln City.

Jack Hinchy on the other hand tasted victory for the first time with Shrewsbury in his fifth appearance, as they beat Reading 3-2 at the Madejski, while Imari Samuels was an unused substitute in Fleetwood’s 1-1 draw with Exeter City.

Crewe Alexandra continued their unbeaten run with Ed Turns in the team (five games), as they secured a 3-1 win over Notts County. The Railwaymen are in a close fought battle for an automatic promotion spot, as they sit third in the fourth tier.

INTERNATIONAL

Mo Dahoud came on for the final 25 minutes of Stuttgart’s 1-1 draw with Koln, while Deniz Undav missed out through injury.

Vitesse got their first league win since mid-October with a 2-1 win at Excelsior, which lifts Vitesse off the bottom of the table. Kacper Kozlowski played for 89 minutes, while Adrian Mazilu was an unused substitute.
