Jeremy Sarmiento says he is feeling at home with another Albion after scoring his first professional goal for West Brom.
The 21-year-old joined the Baggies on a season-long loan at the end of July and has made four substitute appearances for the Championship side so far, helping them to seventh in the second tier.
His maiden career goal came during West Brom’s 4-2 victory against Middlesbrough at The Hawthorns, with the forward taking a touch inside the box before thumping his strike into the roof of the net from ten yards.
“I was delighted to score my first professional goal and help the team.” said Sarmiento. “You could see our togetherness as a team to get the points, it’s a good feeling.
“The fans were singing my name which really made me feel at home. Even though I’m only on loan, I can tell the fans are really happy about me being here.
“The lads have made me feel so welcome too. It’s good to be part of an exciting group.”
Jeremy Sarmiento joined West Brom on a season-long loan last month.
Despite his first goal over the weekend, Sarmiento is yet to start a game for West Brom, but the Ecuador international says Carlos Corberan is carefully managing his minutes.
He said, “I had a big injury with my fifth metatarsal [last season], so I’m focused on building my physical strength right now and hopefully my first start will come.
“Carlos has told me he will look after me and introduce me bit by bit. For now I am focussing on playing when I can and helping the team as much as possible.”
