Mikey Harris's team are eighth in the WSL.

Women’s interim head coach Mikey Harris was pleased to see his team make it four unbeaten away from home with a 1-1 draw at Tottenham on Sunday.

Elisabeth Terland put Albion into an early lead, before Beth England equalised late on.

“When you’re leading a game you hope you can go on and get the three points, but that wasn’t to be today,” Harris said. “I was really pleased with our performance in the first half, not so much in the second half when we became a little bit loose – but it’s always difficult when you make changes, a couple of which were enforced.

“I thought everyone who played today – whether they started or came on to finish the game – put in a hell of a shift. Everyone worked really hard, the intensity and energy was there to win the game and we have to accept that Tottenham are a very good team.

Elisabeth Terland netted her 13th WSL goal of the season in the first half.

“They showed that in the second half with some of their play and it’s one of those games where you have to settle for a point. That makes it four unbeaten away from home which is a good run and gives us some momentum.”

With Albion’s place in the WSL for next season already secure ahead of kick-off, Harris has been pleased with his team’s commitment to finishing off the season on a high.

“It would be clear to see for anyone that we’re still playing for something. It’s easy to say you’ve got three games left with nothing to play for, but anyone who watched the game will have seen the desire and intensity of the players to keep going.

“I was really pleased with the goal we scored. On another day we could have maybe got the second goal which changes the complexion of the game. But on balance we have to be pleased with a point at Tottenham.

Albion are now unbeaten in four on the road.

“We want to finish as high as we can, to finish strongly with our performances. You can see the players are committed to that. I am proud of them, as I always am.

“We’ve had a fantastic week’s training and now we’re going to have to see how we’re looking from a squad perspective, because for the exception of Charlie Rule we’ve had a full squad to contribute today, but it looks as if we’ve picked up some injuries.”

Now Albion look forward to their final home game of the campaign next Saturday as they take on Aston Villa.

“We want to end our home season on a high,” Harris added. “We’re aware we haven’t had the best results at home this season, so we will be looking to put that right against Villa.

“We will be looking forward to the last game of the season, to get a big crowd and give them something to celebrate going into the summer.”
