Gerry was a huge part of the club’s successes in the late 1970s and 1980s. He also worked as assistant manager under Liam Brady in the 1990s and was a hugely popular figure and someone who never lost his love for the club.
He will be sorely missed by so many, and the club’s condolences are with Gerry’s family and many friends.
We have also sadly lost one of English football’s greatest ever players and finest ambassadors, Sir Bobby Charlton. This weekend we’ll pay our respects to Sir Bobby ahead of our game with Fulham, alongside the rest of the Premier League.
