Wilkinson, who celebrated his 80th birthday last month, has been appointed an OBE for his services to football and charity, including his current work as chairman of the League Managers Association.
The last English manager to win the top flight when he was manager of Leeds United, Wilkinson played for Albion as a winger for five years after joining the club in 1966, and he made 147 appearances for the club, scoring 19 goals.
He made his mark in management, leading Leeds to the First Division title in 1992. He also managed Sheffield Wednesday and Sunderland and also had two spells as England caretaker boss in 1999 and 2000 during his time as technical director at the Football Association.
Last year, Albion chief executive Paul Barber and midfielder James Milner, a Liverpool player at the time, were recognised in the New Year’s Honours List.
