Two Emerging Talent Centres for the 2023/24 season

Just under 5,000 supporters will be in attendance at Broadfield Stadium on Sunday.

Brighton & Hove Albion are delighted to announce that they will be running two Emerging Talent Centres (ETC) for the 2023/24 season, giving more girls the chance to receive high-performance coaching whilst still playing for their grassroots clubs. The centres will be based in Lancing in West Sussex and Whyteleafe in Surrey. The centre is FREE to attend and is part funded by the Premier League.

The Brighton & Hove Albion ETC will form the foundation phase and beginning of our women and girls' pathway, providing players with the foundations to grow, develop and learn how to play ‘the Brighton way’.

The previous season (2022/23) saw many highlights from our inaugural Emerging Talent Centre:

5 ETC players gained a full registration into the Girls’ Academy
ETC players received coaching from Girls’ Academy and Women’s First Team coaches
All ETC players experienced ‘a day in the life of an academy player’ where they visited the training ground, used the gym, had a classroom session and trained with academy coaches
Select ETC players were invited to train alongside our existing academy squads to challenge them and support their development still further
We played many matches against other ETCs and boys’ teams, experiencing away trips and home games at our elite training ground
Opportunities to attend select Women’s First Team WSL games

Players within our ETC programme will also have an opportunity to be taken through a talent ID process for BHAFC’s girls’ academy, which starts at the WU12 age group.

Brighton & Hove Albion are now inviting expressions of interest from parents and carers who would like their daughters to take part. Training sessions will be held once a week at each venue for girls aged U9-U12 (born between September 2011 – August 2015).

2023/24 Season:

U9s (Year 4): 01/09/2014 - 31/08/2015

U10s (Year 5): 01/09/2013 - 31/08/2014

U11s (Year 6): 01/09/2012 - 31/08/2013

U12s (Year 7): 01/09/2011 - 31/08/2012

To apply for a place at trial, please complete the expression of interest form here - no later than Friday 25th August 2023.

Please note that not all players who apply will invited to trial for the ETC. If you do not hear from us by mid September, please assume your application has been unsuccessful.

Trials are expected to take place in late September at Whyteleafe and Lancing – dates TBC.
