On the recent run of form...

"Brighton lost Caicedo, Mac Allister and Colwill. We are in seventh place in the table, competing in the Europa League. I could be happy, pleased with the performances at the beginning of the season.
"But no, it's not like this. I'm not happy. We can compete stronger, everyone can do something more. It's not a problem if we lose a player in the transfer market [and] if we are competing in three competitions.
"We are Brighton and we have to play better. We have to push more or we can change the target, but our target is high and we have to push and get more points. We have the potential to win more games."

“He’s very important. On the pitch and off the pitch. I think he deserved a contract extension because he is playing very well. Last season he was one of the secrets to reaching the target.
“I think he knows very well my idea. Bart Verbruggen is not the same level but is very important for us now and for the future because we are Brighton and we have to improve our young players.
“We are conceding goals, but not from the build-up, we have to be more focussed in some situations. Against Fulham we suffered from 59 minutes until 67-68. Only five minutes, it’s normal to suffer. But it’s not normal to concede a goal in five minutes.”
On Julio Enciso’s return from injury…
“He is a big player for us, he is different to other attackers. We hope he can start quickly but I don’t know the right time.”
On Everton’s qualities...
“I think it’s different to when we [last] won in Everton’s stadium, there was a different team. Now it’s totally different. They have a different energy, a different style of play, they play very directly, they are a good team.”
