Club statement: IFO Report
BHAFC
Brighton v Manchester City 24MAY23_PH_0027
Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club have published a report into a recent complaint made to The Independent Football Ombudsman regarding the indefinite exclusion of a supporter.

The Club is very clear on its position with regards to violent conduct and is disappointed with the IFO’s judgment. The club has at all times complied with the process for appeals and followed its clearly laid out sanction policy.  In this particular case, the supporter has not yet served the minimum sanction in accordance with the sanction policy.  They will be open to appeal 5 years from the date the offence took place, on 20 January 2025.
We pride ourselves in applying fair, consistent and transparent processes.
We note the recommendations from the IFO regarding independence within the appeal and sanction process, and this is something we will review with a view to adding independence before the end of the 23/24 season. The Club does not agree with the IFO’s view that, in this case, the fact that the complainant had a Football Banning Order lifted should alter the supporter sanction.
